England forward Gareth Ellis scored the match-winning try as Wests Tigers came from 20-4 down to beat Manly Sea Eagles 26-22 in their opening match of the NRL season.
Ellis, the former Wakefield and Leeds second-rower who was player of the year in his first season with the Tigers in 2009, pounced for the all-important try five minutes from the end to cap a remarkable fightback.
Lote Tuqiri, who returned to Australia following a short spell with Leicester Tigers, had earlier scored with his first touch of the ball in the NRL in more than seven years to open the scoring on debut.
