Huddersfield have given utility forward Larne Patrick a two-year contract extension which will keep him with the Giants until the end of the 2012 season.
The 21-year-old England Academy international made just seven appearances in his first season with the Giants in 2009 but coach Nathan Brown is excited by his potential.
"Giving Larne this deal is fully deserved," said Brown. "He's a player who has a very bright future, not just at the club but in the English Super League, and we're delighted he's pledged himself to us."
He added: "He is without doubt someone who will play a big part in helping this club continue to go forward."
Patrick is hoping for a place in Huddersfield's side for Friday's opening Super League match against Bradford at the Galpharm Stadium.
