Queensland's premier state-based competition - the Queensland Cup - has secured a major sponsor for the next three years.
Intrust Super, a Platinum Rated leading superannuation provider, has linked with the QRL and the 12 competing clubs in a partnership that the League say will financially assist both bodies.
The competition, which did not have a major backer last season, will now be known as the Intrust Super Cup.
QRL Managing Director, Ross Livermore, said the partnership adds to the profile of the League and the competition which continues to strengthen each year.
"Brendan and the Board of Intrust Super won't be disappointed that they have become involved," Livermore said.
"This is the 15th year of this first class competition and early signs point to the 2010 season being one of the most entertaining and keenly contested on record."
The partnership was officially announced at the launch of the new Cup season at Gianni Events, Portside, today. The Intrust Super Cup kicks off on Saturday at 2pm, with Wynnum Manly hosting the Burleigh Bears in the first of six big games.
