“It’s all love” – Whyte plays down clash with Kikau

SYDNEY ROOSTERS giant Naufahu Whyte was involved in some heated moments with Canterbury rival Viliame Kikau on Friday – but moved to play it down afterwards.

New Zealand Test forward White and his Fijian counterpart locked horns a few times and looked to exchanged pleasantries too as the tricolours battled their way to a 20-18 win at Allianz Stadium.

“It’s all love, man, it’s all love,” Whyte, 24, told 2GB.

“Once we cross this white line, we’re here to do a job and off the field we’re mates, we’re brothers.

“It was good to have that challenge, that battle there. Love to Kiks, love to Critter (Stephen Crichton) and all the brothers there.”

Opta States report Whyte leads the NRL in a somewhat obscure but important metric – post contact metres. His percentage of metres made post contact is the highest in the League at 48 percent, an indication of a player who is hardest to stop.

He also leads a prominent website’s MVP voting for the season.

The Roosters face a big test this weekend as they meet competition favourites Penrith at CommBank Stadium on Thursday night.
